Here at Liberty Middle School, FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) is a program that takes place every Wednesday morning. Members dedicate their Wednesdays to having devotionals and donuts. This matters for many students here to express their interests and ideas.
Walking into FCA meetings, the energy is contagious and focused. Members aren’t just sitting through devotionals; they are actively sharing ideas and interests about their faith. According to Sawyer Ellinger (7), when asked what first drew her to FCA, she explained, “My friend just told me about how fun it was, then she invited me to come see what it was like.” Even though she joined because of a friend, FCA has become something she chooses to be part of now.
