Liberty Middle school does a lot of celebrations and parties, but how do the students and teachers really feel?
Liberty Middle School recently had a celebration at the end of quarter three. Mrs. Julie Rusk is the main organizer of the Liberty Middle School house celebrations. She listens to the kid’s inputs on different activities, plus adults say what their kids would enjoy. Mrs. Rusk says, “The hardest part is getting everybody to sign up for an activity. Around 250 kids out of about 900 didn’t sign up. If they don’t sign up, she has to randomly put them in activities. She states that most kids complain about their randomized activity and show little to no effort throughout the time they are there. Unfortunately, IAR came before the March Madness, so students could not watch any live games, but we restreamed some.” Overall, she likes the celebrations. “I enjoy seeing the kids have fun with them and being able to do something that’s not academic and still be at school,” she said.
Kenny Williams, a Liberty Middle School who participates in these activities, was placed in the Blooket room. Kenny says that it was not enjoyable and states that, “It was boring.” He says “The Blooket was just not good.” Kenny then says that most of his friends don’t enjoy the celebrations.
