FFA (Future Farmers of America) is a school club for people that want to learn more about plants and animals. FFA started in 1928. It originated in the United States. In the 1920’s, farming was a major part of people’s lives, and they needed a class to teach students how to properly take care of plants and animals. In 1969 girls were able to join FFA. In this club, you get to go on field trips to judge animals and plants. “FFA is a leadership organization to help kids learn new skills and leadership opportunities,” said Mrs. Shannon Fields, FFA teacher. Lots of kids from Liberty enjoy this club. Reese Slemmer, an 8th grader in the club, says, “I like skipping school and seeing animals. My favorite animal judging competition is dairy cattle.” To this day FFA is still growing and has hundreds of thousands of participants throughout the U.S.
