Ryan McNabnay is not an ordinary 6th grader here at Liberty.  We all have heard of fun summer vacations, but his story will leave you in awe.  Last summer, Ryan and his family traveled to Europe, visiting Italy, England and France. His favorite part of all the summer fun was the trip to Rome.

“I loved going to all the quirky shops,” Ryan said.  He enjoyed walking the streets of Rome.  All those streets had little shops on them that sold some weird toys and that is what Ryan really liked. He enjoyed Buckingham Palace in England, and France was really cool, too.

Other Liberty students had terrific summers, too.

No one can match 8th-grader Ashley Alexander with her number of trips to DisneyWorld in Orlando, Florida. She has been there a grand total of 80 times. This time, she went to Disney with her cousins who had never been. When they were there, they enjoyed the art festival at Epcot. “The [wait] lines were terrible. You sometimes have to wait for over an hour just to go on one ride.” Her favorite ride was the flight of passage at Pandora it’s a new ride “I liked the engineering.” Ashley’s next vacation to Disney is this month.

Edan Clow raced motocross this summer. He tells us that it’s a “litty sport.” He ate a meat lover’s burrito in Minnesota where he also jet skied and caught a 5-foot Musky Fish. He visited Florida where he enjoyed sleeping in and learning about Jesus.

Eli Gregory went on an interesting trip this summer. He and his family visited Costa Rica. “My favorite things were the pool and the ocean,” he said, “and we went deep sea fishing.” He also told us that he went snorkeling. At an animal reserve, he saw sloths, monkeys, and snakes. He went fishing in Colorado, and stayed at a cabin. He had a water bottle called a Hydro Flask. Another thing he enjoyed was cooked fish, such as Mahi-Mahi.

Chris Fuller spent his summer in a very exciting way: visiting Cancun, Mexico. It was very hot, and it rained half of the time. In the time that it rained, he swam in an indoor pool and played board games. When it was nice out, he went to the beach. His favorite part was the sand. “It was nice, it was hot so I could do a lot of stuff,” he says. He had a buffet and ate some ice cream. When he wasn’t on vacation, he had some sleepovers and went to the YMCA. That sounds like a nice and relaxing vacation to me.

All in all, it sounds like the people of Liberty had some pretty interesting summers.
