Welcome back to Liberty!

Mrs. Ashburn is a former student, and now works in the attendance office.

Q: Where did you grow up?

A: I actually grew up here in Edwardsville. I went to Liberty; I was in the first 6th grade class to come to Liberty.

Q: Why did you choose to work at Liberty?

A: I went to school in Michigan for college and then I lived in Chicago. Then I figured it was time to come back home to Edwardsville and I thought working at Liberty would be so fun because I went to school here and I love the community. So, I was excited to get back in the Liberty.

Q: Are there any other staff that you recognize, from when you went here?

A: There are! There are a few staff members that were my teachers and then a few people I went to school with myself around the same age that hare also here.

Q: What are you looking forward to this year?

A: Oh, that’s a good question! I’m looking forward to getting to know all of the students since I am new, along with the other staff members and just really being a part of the Liberty family.

Q: The school theme is “Whatever It Takes.” What does that mean to you?

A: I think whatever it takes means doing whatever you have to do to feel like you are successful. So even if that means just going to school even if you are having a bad day, going to school, getting up, doing your homework. Doing whatever it takes to feel like you have done that best you can. Ultimately you feel good about yourself.
